Deborah L. Petersen received her BS in Business Administration from Creighton University in 1981. She graduated from Creighton School of Law in 1984. Deborah enjoys participating in various roles in the Council Bluffs community. She currently volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association, Council Bluffs Chamber of Commerce, and Network Council Bluffs. She is an active member of the Iowa State Bar Association, serving on the Board of Governors, the Real Estate Elder Law Section, and the Title Standards Committee. She is also a member of the Iowa State Bar Association Foundation Board. Her past service includes ISBA Ways & Means Chair, ISBA Scope and Correlation Chair, Real Estate Elder Law Section Chair, and Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Grievance Commission. She frequently presents at various seminars and volunteers throughout the Southwest Iowa community and is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. Deborah is also a certified Farm Transition Coordinator.

Margaret M. McCabe
Margaret M. McCabe is licensed in Iowa and is an active member of the Iowa Bar Association. She currently is serving on the Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section Council and the Iowa Bar Association Annual Meeting Committee. Margaret graduated from the University of Tampa in 2019 earning a Bachelor of Science in International Business Administration. She earned her Juris Doctor from Creighton University School of Law in 2022. While there, she participated in the Abrahams Legal Clinic and provided pro bono legal representation to low-income individuals. Because of her participation in the Clinic and the Douglas County Tenant Assistance Project, she received the 2022 RISE Award from the Nebraska State Bar Association. Outside of work, Margaret enjoys spending time with her two cats, taking care of her plants, and going to hot yoga.
Margaret joined Petersen Law in August 2022 and has been focusing her practice on estate planning, probate, landlord-tenant issues, bankruptcy, and real estate matters.
